Caleb started out having a bit of a cold last weekend - typical baby stuff, runny nose, small cough - nothing too serious.  On Tuesday (Christmas Eve) Caleb's cold got a lot worse and he started refusing his bottle.  He was coughing A LOT in his sleep and started getting very clingy.

On Christmas, it all seemed to peak.  He was fussy if he wasn't distracted or being held, would only drink 1-2 oz. at a time and fought his naps really hard.  We were supposed to make the round Christmas afternoon but poor little man had to stay home with Grandma because we knew parading him around was not a good idea.  That night he threw up before bed.

Caleb seemed a little better Saturday morning because he slept all night and took his morning battle.  I thought things were on the mend, however I get a call from daycare saying Caleb threw up again.  I decided to make him a Dr.'s appointment (my deductible is about to reset so might as well take advantage of $7 visits while I can!).  We got the last appointment of the day and it turned out Caleb had a right ear infection as well as a skin infection in his diaper area (looked like a diaper rash just in a weird place.)  We started the antibiotics yesterday and are hoping he'll start feeling better soon.  I really hope he starts eating more as well because he's only eating about half what he normally does.

Caleb did a little bit better this week with only two night wakings. He is eating more as well so hopefully he's getting over that phase.

This week Caleb moved up to a new room in daycare. He is now hanging out with babies 8 - 13 months old. So far it seems to be going well, however he's not napping as much as he used to. This means he usually falls asleep on the way home from school and is definitely ready for bed by 7.

This weekend I plan to attempt giving Caleb Gentlease formula in place of the hypoallergenic formula he is currently on. I'm hoping it works out for him as it would help save a lot of money and open up additional food options (Yogurt, cheese, butter, etc.).

It must be this outfit - he always seem miserable when I take his picture in it.  I probably should feed him first after his nap instead of forcing him to pose... ;)

Caleb still has random night wakings. Most of the time he'll chug a bottle (4-6 oz.) and then immediately go back to sleep. He's started to eat baby puffs as well. He LOVES to feed himself them and they easily dissolve in his mouth. I tried some small pieces of soft carrot but those only made him gag. Looks like he needs a little more time before eating REAL solid food.

Little man definitely seems like he'll be ready to crawl soon! He loves to stand (with assistance) and can push himself into a downward dog V shape. Caleb we'll lean forward onto all fours but hasn't quite figures out what to do from there.
