Your baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

Cameron Leigh is 45 Weeks Old! Cameron's scratched eye healed overnight last week. We're still on antibiotics for the ear infection and we go back next Tuesday to make sure the infection is gone.
This weekend Cami graced us with an extra hour of sleep both Saturday and Sunday! She normally wakes up between 6:30 and 7:00 am but slept in till almost 8 am both days.
Hi Mommy!
Not a fan of grass!
She tries to keep her right leg from touching the ground
Baby's brain -- both hemispheres! -- is growing fast, generating about 100 new cells every minute. Arms and legs are emerging as joints start to form, and a permanent set of kidneys (baby's third!) is now in place.
Weekly Survey How far along: 7 Weeks How big is baby: The size of a blueberry Weight gain: Up ~2 pounds Maternity clothes: Let's just say they'll be coming out sooner rather than later... They weren't joking when they said you show faster with your second. Finding clothes that don't stick to my tummy is a challenge every morning. Best moment this week: First appointment. Typical questions, blood work and exam. Everything looks good and I won't go back until 12 weeks for my first ultrasound. Food cravings: None Food aversions: None Symptoms: Bloated Exercise: A few walks - I should really try and do more! Gender: Only time will tell! What I miss: Nothing yet What I'm looking forward to: Hopefully telling our parents soon - we have planned a surprise way to tell them so I'm just waiting on something in the mail before we can do it. Cameron learned some new 'tricks' this week. She started pulling up on her crib railing to her knees. I could see her doing it on the baby monitor so I caught some cute pics of her in action one morning. This afternoon I picked her up early from daycare so she took a nap when we got home. Before she feel asleep she was fussing a bit and when I checked the monitor she was STANDING while holding onto the crib rail. Good thing Bryan dropped the crib down a notch this weekend! She hasn't really tried to pull up on anything else yet, but I'm sure that's just around the corner.
Cami can also officially wear a hair bow...in her hair! I must say they look pretty cute on her.
So today I got a call at work from daycare. Apparently before Cami's nap, her eye look a little red and when she woke up it was definitely red and watering. They suspected pink eye and asked me to come pick her up ASAP as it's very contagious. I made a Dr.'s appointment for the next hour and took Cami in. The good news is she didn't have pink eye, however she somehow managed to scratch her cornea. I have to take her back in tomorrow afternoon to make sure it's getting better and not worse. Dr. Silverman also checked her ears since she had a runny nose and lo and behold - another double ear infection. :( She's been sleeping really well lately and hasn't been fussy so I had no reason to think she had one. Now we also have to go back in two weeks for an ear infection follow up. Her last ear infection was just a month ago so the Dr. prescribed us a stronger antibiotic. Hopefully that takes care of it quickly!
Growing like crazy, baby is starting to sprout eyes, ears, nose, cheeks and chin. Those little hands and feet- still webbed like paddles- might wiggle by week's end, the heart is beating (almost twice as fast as yours!), and blood is starting to circulate.
Weekly Survey How far along: 6 Weeks How big is baby: The size of a sweet pea Weight gain: Meh, maybe a pound or so - but I'd say it's due to bloat Maternity clothes: Between the extra 5 pounds I'm carrying and the early pregnancy bloat, I'm finding my pants a little tough to button. I got a band to cover the open pants and it just looks like I'm wearing a Cami under my shirt. Best moment this week: Already looking at bedding themes...and double strollers. Haha. Food cravings: None Food aversions: None Symptoms: Bloated Exercise: Not so much. Gender: Only time will tell! What I miss: Nothing yet What I'm looking forward to: First appointment this Friday - although I'm sure it will be uneventful! Milestones: N/A Quote(s) of the week: N/A
Cameron Leigh is 43 weeks old!
Only 9 weeks till her first birthday, I can't believe it! Time to start planning. :)
We ordered Cami her first kid's meal this week...a cheese quesadilla from Tijuana Flats. She ate about a third of it plus the applesauce it came with. She seemed to like it and had some of the leftovers for dinner. Cami has figured out how to chew her food now and is definitely enjoying her finger foods more. Tonight she didn't want much to do with the pureed baby food I had for her. She loves mandarin oranges.
Cami takes more and more real crawling steps at a time before she drops to her tummy to do her inch worm scoot. I think she might figure it out soon. I also noticed she's started to grab the top of her crib when she's sitting in it. When I picked her up from daycare she was in her crib and started trying to pull up on the bars. She might be standing before we know it too!
Your embryo (looking kind of like a tadpole) is starting to form major organs (heart, kidney, liver, stomach) and systems (nervous, circulatory, digestive). Baby's presence in your uterus triggers production of hCG (the hormone detected by pregnancy tests)... which triggers production of other hormones like estrogen and progesterone... which trigger all those great symptoms you've probably been noticing!

Did you notice the scenery change? I've had to change to pictures on the floor now. Cami thinks it's fun to scare mommy and try and topple over the front of the recliner. She's just too squirmy to expect to stay still for 10 seconds so I can get a decent picture!
I think Cami is in the process of getting her top two teeth. The gums seem swollen and I can feel her little tooth underneath. She also woke up crying last night so I hope they come through fast!
We had a luau themed play date this weekend. Melanie did a great job hosting and had some baby pools out back for the kids to enjoy. Cami seemed to really like the water and had fun sitting in the pool playing with some pool toys. Twice she did somehow fall backwards and submerge herself. More than anything I think it startled her...after a few tears she was back to playing in the water.
Cami loves to 'dance' now. We caught a short video of her head roll below. She's so cute and funny to watch!
Here's a video I took of her this afternoon. She's playing with her toy and then shows off some of her dancing moves. Also...listen closely for a little surprise at 1:34.
In week 3, sperm meets egg, and voila: conception! Your little zygote sets off on a six-day trek through your fallopian tubes, dividing and redividing into identical cells as it travels to your uterus.
In week 4, now safe in your womb, the ball of cells (blastocyst) splits in two, becoming the embryo and the placenta. The amniotic sac and fluid are forming around baby, and will act as a cushion for the next eight months.
