Quote(s) of the week: I think some men need a common sense lesson on how to talk to pregnant women...There's one man at work who is a repeat offender for saying awkward things.  I saw him down the hall and he says to me "Any day now?"  I say, "Nope, still have 3 months." and keep walking with him behind me.  Now I would think most people would leave it at that...but not him.  He continues with "Oh, well it LOOKS like any day now."  Really, REALLY?  C'mon.

Christmas 2012

We had a really good Christmas this year.  We were able to spend quality time with all out family without feeling overwhelmed on Christmas Day.  We kicked off the holiday weekend with dinner at our house (prime rib!) on Sunday the 23rd.  We had Bryan's mom Joanne and Eph over to enjoy the meal and exchange gifts.

On Christmas Eve Joanne hosted the traditional Polish dinner with pierogi's and food galore.  Both my parents attended as well as many friends.  It was a fun night for all.  Cami was pretty good although a bit clingy.  She went to bed by 8pm and Bryan and I were able to relax and enjoy the evening.  Before leaving, we exchanged presents with my dad to open on Christmas.

Christmas morning we woke up and Cameron got to play with her new Cozy Coupe car from Santa.  She really enjoyed daddy pushing her all around the house.  Hopefully she'll figure out how to pedal herself soon.

After we were all up and dressed my mom came over to exchange gifts.  Cami was interested in some of the presents for a moment or two but it was obvious she still doesn't know what it's all about.

A bit later, Joanne and Eph came over again for a Christmas brunch.  We made a spinach and mushroom fritata and biscuits.  We also heated up some leftover Christmas Eve ham and turkey.  After the meal, everyone headed out, Cami went down for a nap and Bryan and I relaxed and played with some of our Christmas goodies.

When Cami woke up we headed over to Bryan's dad Rick and Pam's house to exchange gifts and have dinner.  It was a nice evening and a great end to Christmast 2012!

Cameron's First Trip to Disney World!

On Sunday December 2nd we had the opportunity to go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom.  We got to the park around 5:00 pm for the special event and met up with our friends and their 2 year old daughter.  Bryan and I haven't been to the park in YEARS and I can really hardly remember any of it.

When we first got there, we explored a bit and then headed to "it's a small world."  Cameron seemed pretty interested in all the singing and dancing puppets.  Her favorite by far was a rocking kangaroo.  We ended up riding it twice in a row - once by ourselves and once with our friends.

Next we headed across the street for Peter Pan's Flight.  This was probably our favorite ride.  We were flying on a ship and looking down at everything...it was pretty cool.

Family picture while waiting in line

After that we decided to wait for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.  This was by far the longest line - maybe 20-30 minutes?  The line was fairly entertaining though with interactive stations for the kids.  Cami enjoyed the honey wall.  When you touched the digital wall you made imprints in the honey which she found interesting.

Our final ride was in the new Fantasyland area - Under the Sea~Journey of the Little Mermaid.  This time we were in sea shells and traveled underwater through Ariel's adventure.

Somewhere along the way we rode the Merry Go Round as well.  I sat with Cami while Bryan rode next to us.

Merry Go Round with Mommy

The parade was set to start at 8:45pm so we got in line for our free cocoa and cookies and then found a spot along the route to enjoy the parade.  Cami passed out in her stroller before the parade even started.  After the parade ended we headed out.

Although we didn't do too much, it was nice to get a taste of the theme park with Cami.  I'm sure we'll take her again in the coming years and it will be fun to see her start recognizing characters and really enjoying the rides.
