A Good Sunday

The rest of the weekend went very well. When I left off we were about to head to dinner with our good friends Corey, Amber and Chris. Before we left, Bryan asked my opinion on just telling them. We debated that it was early, but it was also stressful on me to keep making excuses about not drinking. I knew as soon as I ordered water AGAIN, I'd get some sort of pregnancy comments. We decided that if they said something, we'd go ahead and come clean.

Well after we recieved our drinks, Bryan goes "You guys are our closest friends, Erin's pregnant." Ha, straight to the point! They were happy for us. I'm pretty sure someone said "I knew it!"

After pizza (arugala salad for me!) we headed to Aloma Bowl for some fun. They had a pretty good deal going. For $70 we got three hours of bowling for 5 people including shoes and two pitchers of beer. We all got in three games and the boys managed to squeeze in two more one player games alternating frames. We had a lot of fun.

Our final stop of the night was to Menchie's for some self serve frozen yogurt. I LOVE when we go out for froyo. Since I won't be having acohol until NOVEMBER, this will be my vice. :)

On Sunday, Bryan and I took it easy in the morning. We went out to lunch to Jason's Deli and ran a few errands. When we got home I did our weekly laundry and vacuum. After the chores I went for a 2.5 mile run.

For dinner we had Bryan's dad and Pam over. Bryan smoke some chicken drumsticks and I made a broccoli cheese casserole and banked french fries. Our plan was to share the news with them. It happened to be Kaylee's birthday on Sunday, so Bryan started off the conversation "Today is Kaylee's birthday and Brady's is in December. And...we should be expecting one in October as well...." It took a few seconds for them to get it but once they did everyone was overjoyed! Phew, I think we've shared with everyone we want to for now! I think we're good until second trimester. :)

Flowers and Tamale Night

When we got home from work yesterday, this was on our front porch:

With a note:

I'm thrilled for both of you!
"Grandpa"

They were from my dad and I loved them! I also received some pregnancy related books I ordered. I'm looking forward to reading them.

As I said in my last post, we had a few friends over for tamale night. I made ground turkey and shredded chicken. They were a lot of work but they tasted really good! When Kelly came over, she made jalapeno cheddar biscuits and we made a cheesecake for dessert. Out water in the beer plan worked alright...I think.

This morning Bryan had to go to work at 8am so I decided to go to the 8am yoga class. It was hot in there today (91 - 93 degrees) so I took it easy. At the end of class I had a headache and felt a little nauseous on the drive home. I'm not sure if it's because I didn't eat before the class or if I was over heated. I drank a lot during class so I don't think I was dehydrated. When I got home, I had some Sun Chips which made me feel a lot better.

We did a bunch of yard work this afternoon and in a little bit we're going to grab some dinner and meet up with Amber, Chris and maybe Corey for some bowling.

I've been SUPER hungry lately. When I wake up in the morning I swear my stomach is already growling. Another lovely side effect is I've been 'backed up' lately. I miss being regular. :(

Off to enjoy our evening!

One More in the Know

I called and told my dad last night! Honestly, he was probably the one who made me most nervous to tell because I still feel like 'daddy's little girl.' It went well though. :)

I typically go to yoga on Thursday nights, but I was NOT feeling it yesterday. I decided to do a nice and easy 2.5 mile run. The weather's been soo pretty lately!

After my run, I cleaned up and went to trivia at Smokey Bones. Bryan missed this week because he was playing in a glow ball golf tournament. I met up with Corey, Kelly, Amber and Chris. We did horrible this week! Round 2 we only got 3 out of 9 questions right. It was awful.

So apparantly Amber is already getting curious! Kelly told me that Amber thinks I'm pregnant because I haven't had a drink in a long time. Ha, in reality this past Saturday was the only occasion that I did not drink at. I typically don't drink at trivia so that is nothing new. This will be interesting how long we can play it off...

Today is our working Friday and it seems dead at work. Tonight we're having a tamale night! Kelly and I are making home made tamales. I hope they turn out delicious! Bryan and I came up with a plan for me to pretend I'm having a drink. We're going to empty some beer bottles and fill them with water and then stash them in the main fridge (vs. the beer fridge). Hopefully that will get people off my back for a while! :)

The Big MOM Reveal

Last night we had our mom's over for dinner so we could share our news with them. I cooked Spinach Lasagna Rolls and a salade. Bryan made a delicious garlic bread with roasted red peppers. Before we sat down, ot eat we were in the kitchen and Bryan said "Let's have a toast!" We all raised our water glasses, "To all the moms, Joanne, Judy....and soon to be Erin...." I think Joanne caught on immediately and gave me a hug, however my mom was confused saying "Wait, What? What did you say??" After she finally got it she was excited and gave me a hug as well. I think they both took it well and everyone was very happy for us. It felt good to tell them. We enjoyed our dinner with a few baby related conversations. :)

After dinner, Bryan had a volleyball game and I relaxed on the couch watching tv. I headed to bed early as I am extremely exhausted these days! At least I haven't experienced any nausea....yet!

Ready to Share

Well we've setup when and how we're telling the parents! This Wednesday both of our moms are coming over for dinner at our house. I haven't seen my mom in a few weeks so it was a good excuse to host dinner. I'm going to make spinach lasagana rolls, a salad and garlic bread. I hope they are completely suprised! After I talk to my mom, I'm going to ask her what the best way to tell my dad is then hopefully I can plan something with him.

This Sunday we're going to have Bryan's dad and step mom over for dinner to tell them as well. Bryan is planning to smoke some chicken and I'll figure out a veggie side to make. It should be quite an interesting week but it will be nice to finally tell SOMEONE! I'm sure Bryan will be telling Danny sometime this week too.

As far as the rest of our friends go, we're still going to hold out as long as possible. But if situations get awkward, we're just going to have to come clean.

I had a mini emotional meltdown at work today for pretty much NO reason. Hormones are getting the best of me.

After work we both just relaxed on the couch. For dinner I made some pizza with Publix premade dough. It came out pretty well. Since we finished dinner early I was able to make the 8pm yoga class tonight. Ahhhh, great way to relieve some stress. After class I rushed home to take a shower and watch The Bachelor. We're too close to the end that I HAVE to watch each episode Monday nights. Waiting till Tuesday is just too hard!

Awkward Dinner

Weekend Recap!

Friday - Before my hair appointment, I headed out for a run. It was almost hot outside! The sun felt good though. I did out typical loop for a total of 2.40 miles. After a quick shower and lunch I headed up to the outlets. I only had time to go to one store - Banana Republic, but it was a successful trip. I picked up some new shirts, pants and a few things for Bryan. Can't beat their prices. After that was my hair appointment.

Friday evening was date night to celebrate a belated Valentine's Day. We went to one of our favorite restaurants Luma on Park Ave. Declicious as always! We shared a salad and pizza appetizer and I enjoyed a pork chop with cheese grits while Bryan had a duck breast. We usually order a bottle of wine to share, however I had to stick with water tonight! For dessert we dominated some froyo at YogurtLand.

Saturday - Bryan's friend Ryan and his wife Chiara had a baby a few months ago and we were invited to his Baptism in Melbourne. We headed there for the 11 am ceremony and then enjoyed a full Italian lunch after at a local restaurant. When we got back into town we made plans to meet up with our friends Amber and Chris for dinner. We originally planned to eat at The Ravenous Pig but it's next to impossible to get a table on a Saturday night without a reservation. Plan B was Hot Olives. We started at the bar for a drink (Mmmm....water). After looking at the menu, we then decided to enact Plan C and head to Dexter's. I was still pretty full from lunch so Bryan and I shared a hummus appetizer and I had a spinach salad for dinner.

Now, the awkward part. It's so atypical of me to not enjoy a drink on the weekends when out with friends! I'm sure it's noticed - but I just tried to say I had my fill of wine at lunch (hello white lie!). After dinner, our friends wanted to head up to the wine bar, but after Bryan and I got back to the car, I told him I didn't think I could handle it. It's so freaking hard to have this great news to share, but not be able to yet! I had a mini meltdown about it, but all is good now. :) Soon enough we'll be free to share.

Sunday - Typical Sunday for us! We headed up to Costco then had lunch at Tijuana Flats. I spent the afternoon cleaning, doing laundry and just relaxing. Time for another work week to start!

First Appointment = Check!

So yesterday morning I took another test, you know, just to be sure. It was definitely positive. :) I called and made our first appointment. The receptionist said they typically like to see you between 6 and 10 weeks and by her calculations I'm currently 6 weeks, however I KNOW I'm only 4 weeks. It was useless trying to explain it to her. I made the appointment for Wednesday March 2nd or my 6 weeks (their 8 weeks). I didn't really ask what exactly they'd be doing but I'll find out soon enough! I also enrolled in a 'class' at the Dr.'s office on Wednesday March 9th where they go over the entire process, etc.

Yesterday after work I hit up the 6pm yoga class. Kelly got stuck at work so I was along, but it was a really good class. After class, I met up with everyone for some trivia. We only missed one question the first two rounds and then fell apart the third round. Oh Well!

Today's our off Friday. Bryan's off playing golf. I think I'm gonna head out for a quick run before my 1:30pm hair appointment. Wish me luck!

4 Weeks

I made it to yoga today at 6pm. It felt so good to stretch and sweat! I love hot yoga and will be sad when I can no longer do it. :( Tomorrow I have plans to meet Kelly for the 6 pm class and then the usual trivia at Smokey Bones with the crew.

Check out my first 'belly' pic:

Please excuse the horrible picture quality and don't mind my pj's...this was taken post yoga shower. I know, I know, there is nothing there, but I want to track my progress so I figure it's best to start from the beginning. Hopefully I can get Bryan to start taking these pictures with the nice camera.

Big News!

Well, the day finally came! We found out today we are expecting a baby! It looks like I am 3 weeks 6 days with an estimated due date of October 26, 2011. We're so excited! I consider us very lucky as this was only our second cycle trying. I just hope this is the beginning a healthy nine months! From what I've read, I believe my first appointment will be at 8 weeks. I figured I'd wait through this weekend, then call first thing Monday to schedule it. The hard part will be waiting 4 more weeks.
Right now the only 'symptom' I have are what feels like cramps. I'm not sure this will fully sent in until I actually start feeling different or see the first ultrasound.

My goal is to continue exercising throughout my pregnancy. I know I'll have to listen to my body and not push myself too hard. Today, the husband and I ran. I took it easy with 1.80 miles while he went a bit further. It was our first run since before vacation but it felt GOOD! I also will be hitting up some yoga this week.
